Day 01: Elsen tasarkhai sand dunes – Kharkhorin

  • Pick up from your hotel at 8am. Your trip starts to Karakorum and Erdenezuu Monastery.
  • On the way we stop at tourist Ger camp for lunch near the Elsen tasarkhai magnificent sand dunes - surrounded by hills with willow trees, streams and bushes, and appear as a small desert in the center of the country. This sand dune is 80km long and the widest part of the sand dune is 9-10 km.  
  • The sand dunes are the perfect place for camel riding. We will discover this magnificent place on camel back. Mongolia is home to 2/3 of the two-humped Bactrian camels in the world. 
  • Continue driving to Kharkhorin - is a small village and one of the country's major tourist destinations and historically known as Karakorum which was an ancient capital of Mongolia Empire. Upon arrival in the village, we will stay at tourist Ger camp near Erdene-Zuu and other attractions. Dinner and overnight at the tourist Ger camp.
    Accommodation: Ger camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 02: Karakorum & Erdene Zuu monastery – Orkhon waterfall 

  • In the morning, we will visit museum of Karakorum, the symbolic ruins of ancient city of Mongolia Empire, which was the largest contiguous empire in the World history. In 1220, Karakorum was founded by Genghis Khan in the Orkhon valley, at the crossroads of the Silk Road. The city flourished with wealth and culture, especially as artists and intellectuals were brought over from Europe to enhance the Eurasian capital.
  • Also we will visit to the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdene Zuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 stupas. The monastery is still active, and there are temple museums and buildings where monks live and pray. Here you can see interesting listen to monk chanting Buddhist sutras. 
  • After lunch, drive towards to Orkhon waterfall - is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Central Mongolia. The height of the waterfall is about 20m (65 feet).  The waterfall is located in a beautiful Orkhon river valley with volcanic rocks which listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its historical value related to Great Mongolian Empire. There is opportunity to experience their way of life, their culture and traditions. The area is ideal for fishing, horse riding, cycling and photography. Dinner and overnight at the tourist Ger camp near the waterfall.

Day 03: Tuvkhun Monastery - Hugnu Khan Mt. National Park

  • In the morning, we will drive to Tuvkhun Monastery was built in 1654 by Saint Zanabazar who was a great sculptor and one of the biggest representatives of Buddhism in Mongolia. The monastery is located on the densely forested and picturesque Rocky Mountain at an elevation of 2000m above sea level. There is a small cave near the temple known as “Mother Cave”; it is believed that by crawling into this cave, turning about, and re-emerging, one can be symbolically reborn as a pure individual. Today there are special formation of rocks which are called womb and cradle, symbolizing rebirth, besides 4 temples and 2 stupas. Several monks live at the monastery year around.
  • On the way, we will enjoy visiting the local nomad family to experience firsthand how people live the country side, a lifestyle which has not changed for centuries. Here you can help the herders with their daily tasks to get an idea of how nomadic people alongside of their livestock. There is we can taste Airag, which is made horse fermented milk.
  • After lunch at Tuvkhun, we will drive to Hugnu Khan National Park - It is a picturesque area of Rocky Mountains, semi desert, Gobi sand dunes and steppes all in one location represents three different natural zones. There is ideal for hiking, wild life observation and photography.  
  • There we will visit Uvgun Monastery in the national park through the semi-desert and interesting Rocky Mountains in beautiful Mountain View.
  • Dinner and overnight at the tourist Ger camp in the national park.

Day 4: Hustai National Park – Ulaanbaatar

  • Today we drive back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we will visit Hustai National Park. This area is home to the Mongolian wild horse known as Perzevalski horse (takhi) with unique landscape that features mountain and steppe.
  • After lunch at Hustai Resort, and visited the small Ger museum about the wild horse Takhi, we will take short drive to see for wild horse Takhi. There is great opportunity to take photo for these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds… 
  • After to see the wild horses, we will take 2hrs drive to Ulaanbaatar and arrive in the hotel at 7pm. 
    Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.


What is tourist Ger camp?
It’s most popular accommodation type for countryside trip in Mongolia that consists of 20-30 Gers (Mongolian traditional yurt), a restaurant and some entertainment facilities. Each Ger has 2 to 4 beds and furnished with a table, chairs and a wood-stove. Modern toilet and hot shower facilities is separate house . The restaurant mostly serves with Western and Mongolian meals. Most visitors prefer to stay in Ger, which provide an authentic taste of Mongolian culture and adventure, their most enjoyable experience in Mongolia.
