Day 01: Elsen tasarkhai sand dunes – Kharkhorin

  • Pick up from your hotel at 8:00am. Your trip starts to Karakorum and Erdenezuu Monastery.
  • On the way we stop at tourist Ger camp for lunch near the Elsen tasarkhai magnificent sand dunes - surrounded by hills with willow trees, streams and bushes, and appear as a small desert in the center of the country. This sand dune is 80km long and the widest part of the sand dune is 9-10 km.  
  • The sand dunes are the perfect place for camel riding. We will discover this magnificent place on camel back. Mongolia is home to 2/3 of the two-humped Bactrian camels in the world. 
  • Continue driving to Kharkhorin - is a small village and one of the country's major tourist destinations and historically known as Karakorum which was an ancient capital of Mongolia Empire. Upon arrival in the village, we will stay at tourist Ger camp near Erdene-Zuu and other attractions. Dinner and overnight at the tourist Ger camp. 
    Accommodation: Ger camp. Meals: Lunch and Dinner.

Day 02: Karakorum & Erdene Zuu monastery – Tsenkher Hot Spring

  • In the morning, we will visit museum of Karakorum, the symbolic ruins of ancient city of Mongolia Empire, which was the largest contiguous empire in the World history. In 1220, Karakorum was founded by Genghis Khan in the Orkhon valley, at the crossroads of the Silk Road. The city flourished with wealth and culture, especially as artists and intellectuals were brought over from Europe to enhance the Eurasian capital.
  • Also we will visit to the magnificent and the oldest Buddhist Monastery complex of Erdene Zuu, built in the 16th century, with 108 stupas. The monastery is still active, and there are temple museums and buildings where monks live and pray. Here you can see interesting listen to monk chanting Buddhist sutras. 
  • After lunch, drive towards through fertile valleys to a remote countryside spot. A journey takes around 3.5 hours. Tsenkher Valley is some of the lushest countryside in Mongolia with green forested mountains and meandering rivers. There is famous Tsenkher hot spring that reaches +86.5"C, supposed to have curative properties for arthritic joints and other ailments. 
  • There is you can relax at bath with hot spring and great opportunity to hiking or just enjoy at wild nature to take photos.  Dinner and overnight at the tourist Ger camp.

Day 03: Lake Ugii – Hugnu Khan Mt. National Park

  • In the morning, we will drive to Ugii Lake - is located up 1337m from the ocean level and it is a pure water steppe lake, which is 7.9km long, 5km wide. There are 14 kinds of fishes in Ugii Lake and there are fishery effective fishes. Also this beautiful lake is home of 144 kinds of birds. 
  • On the way we will enjoy visiting the local nomad family to experience firsthand how people live the country side, a lifestyle which has not changed for centuries. Here you can help the herders with their daily tasks to get an idea of how nomadic people alongside of their livestock. There is we can taste Airag, which is made horse fermented milk. 
  • After explore the lake and lunch at tourist Ger camp, we will take 1.5hrs drive to Hugnu Khan National Park - It is a picturesque area of Rocky Mountains, semi desert, Gobi sand dunes and steppes all in one location represents three different natural zones. There is ideal for hiking, wild life observation and photography.  There we will visit Uvgun Monastery in the national park through the semi-desert and interesting Rocky Mountains in beautiful Mountain View.
  • Dinner and overnight at the tourist Ger camp.

Day 4: Hustai National Park – Ulaanbaatar

  • Today we drive back to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we will visit Hustai National Park. This area is home to the Mongolian wild horse known as Perzevalski horse (takhi) with unique landscape that features mountain and steppe.
  • After lunch at Hustai Resort, and visited the small Ger museum about the wild horse Takhi, we will take short drive to see for wild horse Takhi. There is great opportunity to take photo for these endangered horses. If you are lucky, you can see fox, deer, roe deer, eagle, and more animals and birds… 
  • After to see the wild horses, we will take 2hrs drive to Ulaanbaatar and arrive in the hotel at 7pm.
    Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.


What is Ger camp?
It’s most popular accommodation type for countryside trip in Mongolia that consists of 20-30 Gers (Mongolian traditional yurt), a restaurant and some entertainment facilities. Each Ger has 2 to 4 beds and furnished with a table, chairs and a wood-stove. Modern toilet and hot shower facilities is separate house. The restaurant mostly serves with Western and Mongolian meals. Most visitors prefer to stay in Ger, which provide an authentic taste of Mongolian culture and adventure, their most enjoyable experience in Mongolia.
